it rained today as i worked outside on the food pantry. on my way home everyone i bumped into said “boy this is lousy weather” now, i live in the chicago land area and weather is always changing and therefore a good topic to chat about. a week ago it was the ending a very cold and snowy winter which was filled with “i hate the snow, im sick of the snow, kill the snow”… now its warm and we hate the rain. soon it will be hot and too humid. i was struck by the comments because they are so mono-visioned. does the farmer hate the rain? aren’t i interconnected to the farmer? if there is a drought and the prices go up at the grocery store i will then complain that the prices are too high we love cute baby polar bears but hate the snow? we love the beauty of the rain forest and the deliciousness of tropical fruit but hate the humidity? most importantly. the weather. nature. the balance of the ecosystem. the power of the thunderstorm, the lightining, clouds, the adaptation of the species dependent Is one very beautiful picture every Read more...
